The last blog.

Since this is my final blog as a fifth grader  I just want to sign off and talk about the fifth grade. The thing I liked best is the IDL which is just what you want to learn about. That was fun because I did the Lego mindstorms which you program a robot to do tasks. The thing I did not like the best is learning about roots. This was the best school year of my life. Well...... I guess this is it.

Baking soda and vinegar

I think the balloons will expand due to the amount of materials. I found out that I was incorrect that just because the amount does not mean a bigger balloon.

Lego Mindstorms

After the OAA's my class went in their own Intrest Driven Learning. This spells IDL this is what will do for the rest or the year. I chose to build and program a Lego Mindstorms bot. We programmed  the bot to go to a teachers classroom. I feel it went ok I think. I think we need to program better. I chose this project because it uses a lot of math. We had a lot of success in building. Working in teams is not always the best. I would measure the length better.

Sound BrainPop

Today me and my class were watching BrainPops. I learned that the faster the vibration the higher the frequency the higher the pitch. I also learned that the lower the frequency the lower the pitch. Another thing I learned is that sound bounces off  hard straight things. The last thing I learned is that soft things absorb sound. That is what I learned about sound.

Ants in space!

In my class room we have been learning about how ants move differntly on earth than in space. On the ISS the ants move slower than on earth. This is because of microgravity. Microgravity means less gravity. During the investigation my question was Are the search path ways the same on earth than on the ISS some of my results were little of my classes ants moved and the ones that did they mostly moved in a zig-zag motion and some ants went in a strait line. That is what we have learned from this investigation.
